Maud Vanhauwaert, together with Kurt Demey, designed the installation "Lezer" (Reader) as an in-situ magical installation for multilingual poetry. The poem was then magically revealed in various libraries. Accidental passersby hear a whispering voice, without any indication of an external sound source. Confused and amazed, they follow the whispering poem, which can also be followed in written form on the reading tables. Main sounds unfold in the air into whispering sounds. In a second installation, passersby push their heads against a wall, and a poem in a foreign language can be heard. Via a ‘bone conductor’ technique, sound vibrations enter the inner ear directly, so the poem literally plays out in the viewers' heads.
