-Hans Beckers and Kurt Demey find each other in the use of natural elements, the search for a magical experience, and interactions with and between the audience.-Rode Boom organizes 'Experimentals' in which Kurt Demey steps blindly into a collaboration with another artist, maker or scientist. Each person participating in the experiment starts from their own discipline and opens up to the other discipline. Kurt Demey's approach is the circus discipline of magic. The general starting point of each experiment is the question "What does the word magic or the sense of magic mean to you?" This is only the starting question, not a guide for the rest of the experiment. Each investigation is capped off in a performance.-For Hans Beckers, listening is a way of re-colouring the reality around us. His work departs from his fascination with the everyday sounds that surround us. Sounds in all their variety, complexity and richness. He makes sound sculptures and self-built instruments, manufactured from everyday found and collected objects. It shows how materials, not intended for musical purposes, can still be seen as instruments in their own right. Objects and natural materials like desert sand, seeds, grass, steam and water Beckers transforms into shimmering sound works and performances.
